Apple iPhone 3G apps target time and space
Two new applications have been launched for the Apple iPhone 3G that have been detailed online this week.
The first of the pair is a navigational instrument that aims to provide users the chance to save time by not getting lost on UK roads, while the second challenges them to save outer space from the threat of an evil galactic empire.
Launched by Trafficmaster, the Smartnav Mobile system offers live motoring information, mapping technology and 24-hour customer support for subscribers.
John Lawrence, sales and marketing director of the group, said the software "will help motorists save time, fuel and mileage by keeping them on the best route at all times".
However, Star Wars: Trench Run was described by Liam Cassidy of theAppleBlog this week as an essential for fans of George Lucas' 1977 sci-fi movie blockbuster.
The title focuses on the climactic scene at the end of the first film in the series that sees Luke Skywalker pilot an X-Wing fighter and destroy the imperial Death Star space station that threatens the galaxy.
