Android is the 'future of mobile phones'
An online survey completed on PC Advisor last week found that people believe Android holds the key for the future of mobile phones.
The site hosted the survey to ascertain what people thought would be the market leader in the coming months and nearly half (49 per cent) of the respondents thought Google Android would be the most important platform.
Just under a fifth (19 per cent) of voters thought that Apple's iOS platform would be ruling the mobile world, which is similar to the 18 per cent of the market that Apple currently holds, according to news provider.
Windows Phones received 17 per cent of the vote despite having an incredibly poor year in terms of finances and sales, while Research In Motion received just three per cent as confidence appears to be lost in the ailing company.
Technology editor at the Guardian recently suggested that Android is the reason that Nokia and in particular Research In Motion have struggled in recent times.
