Games industry 'rejuvenated'
The UK video games industry may look to take advantage of improvements in mobile phone technology in the year ahead, it has been suggested.
Handsets such as the Apple iPhone offer users a range of apps and games that could persuade people to trade in their old mobile phone for cash towards an upgrade.
Nick Parker, chief executive officer at Parker Consulting, speaking at the Westminster eForum keynote seminar, the UK computer and video games industry, said: "Mobile was a market potentially in decline actually until the arrival of the iPhone and the App Store, which has rejuvenated the mobile gaming sector."
He added that gaming is also being pushed by other Operating Systems like Android and that it will continue to grow.
Vodafone has recently announced that it has the most paying music subscribers in Europe, which could interest music fans considering an upgrade.
