Apple has introduced the official iPhone Upgrade Program in tandem with the launch of the latest versions of its flagship device – the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
Customers taking advantage of the arrangement will be able to get a new iPhone every year and whatever level of coverage they want with AppleCare+ – all for $32.41 (£20.72) per month.
This is offered with a purchase of the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus and requires a 24-month contract agreement.
Apple claims this is the best way to own the latest iPhone, as a host of advantages are offered. Not only will customers be able to ensure they always have the latest version of the iconic smartphone, but they will also benefit from low monthly payments.
The device they receive will be unlocked, so they can choose whichever network carrier they like, making the most of the rate plan that is most closely tailored to their individual needs.
Every time a new version of the iPhone is released, they will be able to get it and start using it straight away, without having to wait for their contract with their network provider to come to an end.
The scheme is currently only in place for US customers with valid credit, but Apple may extend it to other territories should it prove a success.
