People who are addicted to their Xbox might have been handed the perfect incentive to sell mobiles and invest in an Apple iPhone in the form of a brand new app.
Major Nelson has reported that Xbox Live has released an official tool that allows players to stay connected to the device even when they are away from their console.
It is compatible with devices that run on the iOS 5 operating system, such as the latest iPhone 4S.
The free app offers a raft of benefits, including the ability to send messages to friends, edit a profile on the games station and view and compare progress on various titles with mates.
Such an app could make it essential for Xbox Live players to own an Apple iPhone or iPad.
In other app news, the Google Mobile Blog this week revealed that rival platform Android has now seen ten billion of its tools downloaded by users.
