Orange has asked the UK’s workers to become more productive by taking advantage of technology such as mobile phones.
The network operator said 90 per cent of workers spend an average hour commuting every day and taking advantage of being able to connect to technology could prove beneficial.
Robert Ainger, director of corporate business at Orange UK, said the innovative mobile phone technology currently on offer means that individuals can work in more places than ever.
Indeed, the ability of smartphones like the BlackBerry and iPhones to help people conveniently read and send emails and connect to the internet could make these devices a valuable investment for businesses.
There are benefits to using mobile technology, he stated, adding: "Working remotely, whether from home or on the journey there, can be just as productive as working from the office."
Orange recently reported that flexible working could also help new fathers who are worried about falling behind with work, but who want to spend time with their latest family addition.
