A wooden back for the Moto X, a smartphone from Google-owned company Motorola, has been rumoured to be coming for some time now. However, the mobile phone community has not heard anything for months.
Perseverance may have paid off, as Motorola has released an image on social network Google+ that heavily indicates that the lo-tech option may soon be available.
Motorola posted a picture on Google+ which featured a block of wood with a dotted line drawn on it to show a template for cutting.
In this case, the template was the right shape to be a Moto X, complete with a hole for the phone’s camera and the ‘M’-shaped Motorola logo.
This is obviously meant to represent the wooden phone back that Motorola is hopefully soon bringing out.
Potentially, the custom option could be arriving very soon.
