If you can't wait for the Galaxy S6 or want to get your hands on a budget Samsung smartphone, the manufacturer may be giving you a late Christmas present in the early part of 2015, if rumours are to be believed.
A Russian web portal has claimed that the Tizen-based Z1 will be released in the coming year and will incorporate a four-inch display. This will be ahead of Samsung's flagship phone the Galaxy S6.
So is this Z1 for you? Well it could be if you're buying your first smartphone – or the first smartphone of a loved one – and want to do it without breaking the bank. The whole idea of the Z1 is that it's budget.
However, you'll be getting quite a bit for your money, including a four-inch display with 800 x 480 pixel resolutions, 768 MB RAM, 4GB of internal storage and a 1.2 GHx dual-core processor. The camera is in the rear and offers 3MP and there is a VGA front snapper.
This news comes after reports that Samsung is planning to release its A7, with the South Korean manufacturer submitting the design to the US Federal Communications Commission.
Chief executive officer of Samsung Electronics JK Shin explained that the A range is aimed at making the brand more accessible to young consumers.
"The Galaxy A5 and A3 offer a beautifully crafted full metal unibody, slim design, superior hardware and the best possible social media experience," he said.
