Mobile phone customers have been advised to switch to a better deal in order to save a large amount of cash.
People who find themselves with an old mobile phone on their hands after upgrading to a better deal may want to trade in their device to not only raise some money, but to ensure their handset is properly broken down and disposed of.
More individuals may decide to recycle an old mobile phone after listening to advice from Consumer Focus, the Office of Communications (Ofcom) and the Communications Consumer Panel.
The organisations suggested Britons are missing out on "significant savings" by not being on the best deal available.
"Ofcom wants to ensure that consumers are getting the best from their mobile deal," Ed Richards, Ofcom’s chief executive, said.
Further inspiration to recycle an old mobile phone could come from a recent BBC programme that asked whether consumers safely got rid of their handsets with the same frequency as they recycle food packaging waste.
