An app highly recommended by a national newspaper could be on the wish lists of all those who choose to trade in their mobiles and switch to an Apple iPhone.
The Guardian names Rockford's Rock Opera as one of its top apps and even compares it to established iPhone favourites such as Angry Birds and Doodle Jump.
Originally released three years ago, the tool has been downloaded more than 30,000 times by avid consumers.
There are two instalments of the title available through the AppStore and two more are expected this spring, with adaptations for the iPad also on the way, the newspaper notes.
It suggests success should not only be measured in terms of downloads, meaning apps such as Rockford's Rock Opera can be compared to the big-selling features.
Angry Birds was recently nominated for a prestigious industry award – the Best Ever App title – and has had a series of seasonal editions released.
