Consumers have been advised that trading in a mobile phone and switching to a tablet device can actually leave them not needing a PC any longer.
JP Rangaswami, salesforce.com’s chief scientist and technologist, told the Guardian Tech Weekly podcast that the world will soon realised that PCs have “died”.
He noted that he has not used his for almost a decade, while he has not required a desktop computer since March.
“There are things happening now because of what the iPad has done which is changing how we engage with technology,” Mr Rangaswami stated.
He added that people will work out PCs are behind the times and will switch to tablet devices.
News of one of the latest tablets broke recently, with Samsung confirming that it has launched the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, which is sure to be a hit in the market, in some part thanks to its small and sleek design.
