People who trade in mobile phones over the coming weeks and months and switch to a Nokia model in their place will find they are in a position to enjoy the company’s rebranding.
The firm’s chief marketing officer Jerri DeVard told Nokia Conversations that a transition is underway at the Finnish technology provider and it is expected to run into 2012.
As part of the work, many of the services currently offered under the Ovi umbrella will be rebranded as Nokia applications.
“By centralising our services identity under one brand, not two, we will reinforce the powerful master brand of Nokia and unify our brand architecture,” Ms DeVard explained.
She went on to note that the name Nokia is a great symbol in the industry and is seen by many as a company to trust.
Nokia was in the headlines recently after confirming the release of its new Astound mobile phone.
