Those who feel the time is right to join the smartphone revolution could trade in mobile phones and switch to the BlackBerry Bold 9900, which is coming to the UK later this month.

The device will reach Phones 4u on August 18th, with buyers able to take advantage of a £31 per month two-year contract with Vodafone that will include the handset for free in addition to 300 monthly minutes and 3,000 text messages.

Shoppers will also receive 500MB of inclusive data in the deal.

In terms of the phone itself, users can look forward to a 1.2GHz processor along with the BlackBerry OS 7 operating system, which boasts faster loading times and a new version of BlackBerry Messenger.

The device is the thinnest incarnation of the smartphone Research in Motion has ever produced.

"Made of high-quality brushed stainless steel, with sculpted surfaces and refined touches, it's got the looks to match its power," the company stated.
