As the importance of sending and receiving text messages continues to grow, people who trade-in their mobile phone may be considering the technology more when choosing a new device.
A new study by Pew Research shows young people aged between 12 and 17 send an average of five times as many messages as adults, who themselves are becoming more inclined to text.
Indeed, the findings reveal the amount of adults now taking advantage of their phone’s messaging service rose from 65 per cent to 72 per cent between September 2009 and May this year.
Some 15 per cent of teenagers are responsible for more than 200 texts a day, while 18 per cent of 18-24-year-olds send the same amount.
With this in mind, choosing the right features to suit a texting style when investing in a new mobile may be crucial.
The Nokia Conversations blog recently revealed its readers could not be split in terms of preference for touchscreens or traditional keypads in an online poll.
