Details surrounding the release of the Sony Xperia T3 have been revealed, with the Carphone Warehouse being the only carrier in the UK that will stock the new mid-range device.
The device has managed to slip under the radar since its reveal in June, thanks to Sony working on its phones higher up in the market. The rumours that were rife about the Sony Xperia Z3 and Z3 Compact overshadowed the announcement of the T3.
According to Carphone Warehouse, the new handset will be hitting shelves as of July 24th, with the deals on offer including a £21 per month contract which will allow customers to obtain the handset for free.
In addition to this, those who place a pre-order for the phone will be able to get themselves a Sony Smartband, great for working out, as a little bonus.
So what should you expect to see from the Xperia T3 when it comes to market this year? According to the official release from Sony, what we will be getting is actually quite a high-end device with a large screen and great 4G connection speeds, but with a mid-range price point.
It will come packing a 5.3-inch 1280 x 720 display, 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8MP rear camera, 1.1MP front snapper, Android 4.4 KitKat and a 2500mAh battery.
In addition, the handset will have NFC capabilities and 4G connectivity, as well as packing a Micro SD slot that will allow for the expansion of the internal memory, which is a pretty low (by modern standards) 8GB.
Sony will be hoping that all the hype surrounding the release of its new flagship – which is expected to be announced in September at IFA 2014 – will not overshadow the proper release of the Xperia T3. After all, it's a fantastic little phone for the price.
