The Sony Xperia SP has hit British mobile phone networks for the surprisingly-modest price of just £249.99.
Orange and T-Mobile both have the stock in device and are offering it on a pay-as-you-go basis.
The device is a budget version of the company’s flagship Sony Xperia Z with a 4.6-inch screen powered by a 1.7GHz dual-core processor. It also sports an eight mega-pixel camera and 4G LTE radio.
At around half the price of the flagship phone and packing similar features it appears to be a safe option for customers not looking to pay the top prices.
Other operators like O2, Three and EE are taking pre-orders for the device and expect it in stock soon whereas Amazon indicates a release for May 6th.
The handset has already been released in a number of other regions including Hong Kong, India and Singapore.
