The Sky Go mobile phone application has been updated so that it can now be used on a wider variety of handsets.
Upgraded version 2.1 is compatible with the latest major version of the Google operating system – Android Jelly Bean.
This means that gadget owners who have updated to the system, or those who have purchased handsets like the Google Nexus 4 which have the firmware pre-installed, can now take advantage.
Sky's tool now also works on smartphones like the Sony Xperia T 'Bond phone', the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 as well as the range of HTC One devices.
Owners of gadgets equipped with Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology will be able to stream their favourite television shows more quickly by utilising a high-speed 4G network.
The Sky Go application is available through both the App Store and Google Play, meaning Apple iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S3 users alike can download it for free.
