People seeking flexibility with their phone options should sell their mobiles and switch to a device that can be used on a pay-as-you-go basis.
Tom Rainsford, head of brand and proposition at giffgaff, said that one of the major benefits of such a plan is the increase in flexibility it triggers.
Instead of being tied to a model for 12, 18 or 24 months, consumers can decide what they spend and when.
“You have freedom – there [are] no ties. There’s flexibility and versatility around the offers, so if you get offered something, you can change provider and take your number with you,” Mr Rainsford stated.
He added that pay-as-you-go means people can splash out on their phone if they are feeling well off, but cut back when necessary.
Orange recently confirmed it is updating the one-month SIM-only Animal price plan as it seeks to provide mobile services to people on all budgets.
