People who would like to take advantage of a revolutionary new app that will enable them to charge their phone by talking into them may wish to sell mobiles in order to raise funds for the purchase of a new model.
Scientists have teamed up to devise a cunning tool that turns sound from a user’s voice into electricity that can be used to power the handset.
It is already being speculated that it could mean the end of struggles to maintain battery when away from a charging point.
Dr Sang-Woo Kim, of Sungkyunkawn University in Seoul, South Korea, said: “The sound that always exists in our everyday life and environments has been overlooked as a source. This motivated us to realise power generation by turning sound energy … into electrical power.”
In other recent mobile news, Three has confirmed it is to stock a pair of new devices – the Samsung Galaxy S II and the BlackBerry Bold 9900.
