We all know that Samsung likes to stretch the size of mobile phones, having produced some of the biggest handsets on the market. However, a new patent suggests that the Korean manufacturer is now opting for length over size.
The document, spotted by SamMobile, indicates that Samsung is planning to produce a smartphone with a 21:9 aspect ratio – that's pretty long indeed. In fact, it is the same aspect ratio as widescreen TVs, suggesting that the manufacturer is planning to appeal to movie lovers.
This could mean that such a handset would be accompanied by impressive graphics and processing abilities, to ensure users have the ultimate film experience.
Its ability to give users the best view when watching movie or TV shows is supported by an impressive looking speaker grill on the sketch in the patent. Although there's no mention of what quality of display there would be, it would make sense for it to come sporting a top notch screen.
