Rumours have suggested for a while that the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 would appear at the IFA 2013 event in Berlin, but inclinations indicate that the mobile phone may not be on its own.
Reports hint that September 4th will also be the date when the South Korean manufacturer reveals its Gear smartwatch.
The date is the night before the official opening of the IFA but it’s become a habit of Samsung to unveil handsets before the event starts. Last year, the company debuted the Galaxy Note 2 so to reveal its successor this year would be no big surprise.
It was unveiled as the Samsung Gear when a filing was leaked, which described the products as “watches that communicate data to personal digital assistants, smart phones, tablet, PCs, PDA, and personal computers through internet websites and other computer and electronic communications networks; watchbands that communicate data to [the same aforementioned devices]”.
Apple is also rumoured to be producing the iWatch but, with no news about a potential release date, it appears that Samsung may get to be the first to release its smartwatch and set the precedent for the emerging market.
