The chief executive of Samsung has announced that the next mobile phone from the company will carry a 64-bit processor chip. This means the Samsung Galaxy S4 successor will match the power of Apple’s newly-announced iPhone 5S.
We’re assuming the device will be called the Samsung Galaxy S5 but whatever its title is, it will match the iPhone 5S’s power, according to the company’s co-chief executive Shin Jong-kyun.
Speaking to the Korea Times, he said users shouldn’t expect to see anything too soon. The A7 chip in the iPhone 5S makes it the world’s first smartphone with such a processor and twice as fast as its predecessor.
According to Tech Radar, the company doesn’t feel threatened by the Cupertino giant or feel as though Apple could make the iPhone 5S work in China. An unnamed Samsung executive told the website that the device is unlikley to challenge its 20 per cent share of the market.
