Samsung fans won’t have to wait too much longer to get their hands on the company’s latest mobile phone. The Galaxy S5 is expected to land in April, alongside a new Galaxy Gear.
One of the most interesting rumours about the upcoming flagship handset from the company is that it could bring a retina scanner.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Lee Young Hee, executive vice president of Samsung’s mobile business, confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S5 would arrive soon.
He said: “We’ve been announcing our first flagship model in the first half of each year, around March and April, and we are still targeting for release around that time.”
Mr Lee also suggested the device could bring some new exciting technology, saying the company is “studying the possibility” of iris recognition technology, which has been the subject of many rumours over the past few months.
He added that the Galaxy S5 will arrive with a new Galaxy Gear, which is said to have “more advanced functions” than the current model.
