Speculation concerning the next handset in the hugely successful Samsung Galaxy range is building, and one industry analyst believes the S4 could have an unbreakable touch-screen.
A strong plastic substrate display could be used before the Korean manufacturer moves on to flexible materials, Nicolas Gaudois told Reuters.
Currently, more than one billion mobile phones utilise Gorilla Glass as a protective touch-screen cover.
However, the new Samsung material could further protect mobile phone owners if they drop or knock their device.
Many gadget users have experienced a smashed screen, so would recycle their mobile phone or pay a lofty repair bill – this could be a thing of the past for Samsung Galaxy S4 customers.
Industry experts expect the handset to sell well, as more than 30 million S3 gadgets have been purchased since its release in May.
The device also won Phone of the Year titles from both T3 and Mobile Choice, thanks to impressive specifications and an attractive “inspired by nature” design.
