Samsung’s latest mobile phone release, the Galaxy S4, is faster than every other handset on the market including its predecessor the Samsung Galaxy S3.
Geekbench’s Primate Labs has published a comparison between the leading devices on the market and the Galaxy S4 comes out far in front of its rival the HTC One. The tests measure software speed and the Galaxy S4’s quad-core version running on the Qualcomm S4 Pro chipset is seemingly working the most efficiently.
John Poole of Primate Labs said: “What's not clear is how the Galaxy S4 will handle the increased power and cooling requirements that generally come with faster processors”.
Synthetic benchmarks measure only one aspect of performance. The tests by Geekbench measure processing and memory but don't take into consideration things like graphics which can be equally as important to a consumer.
The Galaxy S4 should be released in the UK by the end of April and is estimated to market at around £499, going on the price that the S3 was sold at when it was first released.
