Samsung has announced that Galaxy S3 owners will receive a Premium Suite update, which adds extra features to the Android Jelly Bean upgrade.
The mobile phone is pre-installed with Google's Ice Cream Sandwich, but users are able to download an over-the-air update to the newer version.
Premium Suite features are already available on the Galaxy Note 2 smartphone-come-tablet device, which has a 5.5-inch screen.
One of the main benefits is improved multitasking – users will be able to compose a text message and watch a video at the same time thanks to multi-windows support.
The new software will also facilitate geo-tagging, so that photographs taken with the eight-megapixel camera are marked with the relevant location and date.
Facebook updates can also be shown on the lock screen, so that social media users do not need to manually open the app or visit the website.
Users should be able to download Premium Suite soon by checking the Software Update section under the Settings menu.
