The Samsung Ativ S mobile phone, which will be the latest addition to the Windows Phone 8 (WP8) operating system line-up, may be released in time for Christmas.
Delays have plagued the manufacturing and distribution process, but a spokesperson for the South Korean company reportedly told TechRadar that the handset will be in stores in 2012.
However, this representative did not provide any firm dates, and failed to declare whether the handset would only go on store shelves in Korea this December.
Many people are eagerly awaiting the Samsung Ativ S, since only Nokia and HTC WP8 devices are available at the moment.
The Finnish firm's Lumia 920 and the Taiwanese company's 8X high-end gadgets went on sale in the UK last month.
Huawei is also set to release a handset utilising the latest Microsoft mobile phone software – the Ascend W1.
Leaks indicate that this gadget will sport a four-inch touch-screen display, five megapixel camera and Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities.
