People who recycle a mobile phone may be in a good position to become one of the masses who are turning to Android to satisfy their phone needs.
Andy Rubin, senior vice-president of Google, has used his Google+ page to reveal some brand new statistics about the popular operating system.
He told readers that some 700,000 Android devices are now activated around the world every single day.
Mr Rubin went on to add that re-sold models are not counted twice and activation is only counted once a person has purchased a mobile and subscribed to a network.
Android's operating system powers mobile phones from brands such as HTC, Samsung and Sony Ericsson.
Dominic Sunnebo, global consumer insight director at Kantar Worldpanel, recently recommended Android devices as ideal upgrades for consumers, suggesting the brand's pricing policy makes it affordable for many to join the smartphone movement with one of its handsets.
