Telecommunications company Orange will make the much-anticipated device available to customers from June 24th, allowing Apple fans to pick up the sleek new design and upgraded software.
The handset features an A4 processor, making apps run faster and increasing battery time, while a 960-by-640-pixel touchscreen offers a high-definition display for watching films and TV.
Orange will be releasing information about pre-registering to buy the iPhone, along with pricing and tariff plans, shortly before it is due to be launched in the UK, it has announced.
The handset has been revamped with a flat glass screen on the back – to replace the curved plastic original – and a steel finish around the edges.
Multitasking is also possible on the fourth-generation device thanks to the new iOS 4.0 operating system, which allows switching between apps.
