An ooVoo app has been confirmed for the BlackBerry 10 (BB10) operating system, which is set to be unveiled today (January 30th).
Consumers who get their hands on a new smartphone sporting the software, such as the Z10, will be able to download the tool from BlackBerry World.
It will allow users to video chat and instant message friends for free over an internet connection, potentially allowing them to make huge savings on their mobile bill.
The app is already available on a number of platforms, including PC, Mac and Facebook, and those with Apple iPhone or Android handsets can also take advantage.
It has received an average four-star rating on the respective virtual multimedia storefronts App Store and Google Play, and can be installed at no cost.
Smartphone owners have a number of opportunities to communicate with friends for free, whether it is through manufacturer services BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) or tools like Skype.
