The idea that Nokia would release an Android mobile phone has been the subject of a number of rumours over the past few months. However, now a new leak claims to reveal the name of the device previously known by its codename – Normandy.
According to a tweet from serial tipster @evleaks, which said: "Project Normandy = Nokia X", the smartphone will be unveiled with a different name, as many had already suspected.
Rumours have suggested that the Nokia X could feature a four-inch display, a Qualcomm S4 processor, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and a three-megapixel camera, according to a source which spoke to The Verge.
Many people suspected that after Microsoft took over Nokia's device division, a smartphone featuring a rival operating system would be shelved. However, it has been the subject of multiple rumours, suggesting that it is still a possibility.
With the increasing number of rumours and the Mobile World Congress (MWC) just around the corner, it is a possibility that the Nokia-Android device could turn up in Barcelona.
