A major mobile telecoms group has announced the launch of a new scheme which offers to recycle consumers’ old mobile phones.
Orange revealed its Orange Care plan offers an “end-to-end” service, with customers given protection from when they first purchase the handset up until they no longer wish to use it.
The firm begins by transferring contacts from an old mobile phone onto the new device, with the option of having information backed up through the company’s network also on offer for those taking advantage of the programme.
Insurance and back-up are then available, with extended warranty on hand for those interested, to ensure the handset functions for its lifespan,
When it has done its job and it is time to move on and buy a new mobile phone, the firm will recycle the device.
The telecoms company also does it bit for the environment through the Orange Recycle scheme, which, where possible, reconditions old handsets and sends them to other parts of the world.
