As part of the Dow Jones Sustainability World and North American Indexes report, a number of companies were selected for their dedication to green practices in the current market.
Motorola said this week that it had been singled out by the study for its position as a leader for “environmental, social and economic performance”, attaining the highest score among its rivals across a number of categories.
These included how it conducts business in terms of brand management, codes of conduct and compliance, corporate citizenship and philanthropy, and privacy protection.
Karen Tandy, senior vice-president of public affairs and communications for Motorola welcomed the accolade.
“We are aggressively working to reduce our carbon footprint, improve the environmental profile of our products, help our customers to be greener and improve the social and environmental conditions in our supply chain,” she added.
The Motorola W233 Renew is built to carbon neutral standards and is partially created using recycled plastic bottles.
