Mobile phone users across the world could be set to trade-in used devices en masse in order to secure an Apple iPad.
The manufacturer has revealed it will release the gadget in nine more countries – Mexico, New Zealand, Singapore, Ireland, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg and Hong Kong – on Friday (July 23rd).
That may tempt many people to recycle their used phones and put the money towards an iPad.
Some of the device’s specifications suggest it could be ideal for those who travel light or do not wish to carry heavy belongings, as it weighs only 0.68kg.
According to Apple, the model offers users the chance to browse the web, read and send emails and connect with apps in a fun way.
There is also the facility to watch high-definition videos, play games and listen to music.
Last month, Apple released the iPhone 4 in five countries – Germany, Japan, USA, France and the UK – with more to follow later this year.
