Samsung has emerged as the big winner at this year’s Mobile Industry Awards, with the Korean giant taking three prizes at the prestigious event.
It was voted as the Best Manufacturer and its record-breaking Galaxy S2 device was named as the Phone of the Year.
Vice-president for Samsung’s UK & Ireland telecommunications and networks division Simon Stanford triumphed in the coveted Person of the Year category for his work establishing the firm as power in this country.
The ceremony took place at The Brewery in central London last night (June 14th) and the judging panel felt the Korean organisation displayed tremendous strength in depth.
Mobile Today said it came as no surprise that Mr Stanford was handed the prize given the dominant 12 months Samsung has enjoyed.
“Simon Stanford was the first name on the lips of most of the industry’s senior figures when Mobile asked who they felt were the most powerful players in the trade,” the statement continued.
