More than one-in-six Americans plan to use their smartphones to find gifts for loved ones this Christmas, according to McAfee.
Using applications is one of the best ways to browse online retailers’ products and make savings. Barcode scanning tools are particularly useful for seeing how prices compare in-store and on the web.
There are also apps like Quidco and Voucher Cloud which offer users codes to be entered in the checkout process for discounts.
Mobile phones can also make shopping more convenient. Heading to the supermarket for the large festive shop can be stressful, but apps from the stores make adding items to the ‘trolley’ easy and convenient.
Products, especially electronics, can be much cheaper online as opposed to on the high street, but McAfee warns consumers to be cautious of scams which can pop-up online during the holiday season.
