Sony is allowing its Facebook fans to get their hands on a limited edition, 24-carat gold Xperia P mobile phone.
According to the company blog, no more than 15 of the flashy devices have been made in total.
Currently, the handset is available with a black, silver or red aluminium back cover.
This smartphone has a four-inch touchscreen, meaning the display is the same size as that found on an Apple iPhone 5.
The Android operating system runs on the handset, allowing users access to over 700,000 applications through Google Play.
Sony’s Xperia P also has support for Near Field Communication (NFC) technology, which enables owners to make contactless payments.
People can enter the competition on the social network by ‘liking’ the Sony Mobile profile and hunting for golden coins on the company webpages.
The Guinness World Record for the most expensive mobile phone goes to the diamond-coated Goldvish Le million, which sold for €1 million (£675,123) at the 2006 Millionaire Fair in France.
