It was announced this week that the LG GD510 would target a specific part of the market which was crying out for the latest technology at an affordable price.
The South Korean manufacturer said the handset – which also goes by the name of the Pop – is designed to cater for the type of user who might find models like the Chocolate BL40 a little out of their range.
However, LG’s president and chief executive officer Dr Skott Ahn added this did not mean the GD510 would be found lacking.
“We gave the [Pop] an optimised feature set which allowed us to concentrate on making the phone more compact and simpler to use,” he added.
LG went on to state that the model is “fully fluent in multimedia” with 8 GB of onboard storage and a three-megapixel camera.
The firm also unveiled the Chocolate BL20 this week.
