A number of reports have emerged, which imply that Lenovo is planning to take over mobile phone company HTC.
Both Chinese and Korean newspapers have reported that the two companies have been discussing a possible partnership or sale since August this year (2013).
HTC hasn't issued any comment on the rumours but it told the Wall Street Journal that it is "not interested in selling", though this doesn't rule out a partnership. Neither HTC or Lenovo have made any statement concerning the pair teaming up in business.
However, these type of rumours should be taken with a pinch of salt following HTC's recent financial reports. It's no surprise that speculation has started as the company has recently announced that it made its first ever loss this week, despite the undeniable success of the flagship HTC One.
Though, if the rumours are true, it could easily benefit both firms. Although Lenovo has made a great success of its PC company, it hasn't had much luck in the smartphone market.
