The release of the iPhone 5, from mobile phone juggernaut Apple, was a little muted as there wasn't the leap in technological innovation users expected.
Rumours are now circulating about when and what people can expect from the next addition.
Nobody seems sure whether the new product will be the iPhone 5S or 6, but it's likely that the company is moving to a two-phone-a-year pattern to keep up with competitors that churn smartphones out regularly.
The rumour mill reckons that the 5S will emerge around springtime and then the iPhone 6 a few months later probably in September.
We know Apple is working on a plastic-metal hybrid case which could be seen in the next model. It is likely that the new handsets will also have near field communication and possible eye tracking technology along with a better processor, wireless charging and be 4G-enabled.
Nothing is yet confirmed but it will be interesting to see what Apple does and whatever it is, the company will need to do something different to keep up with its rivals.
