Intel has announced that it will be joining its rivals to create a mobile phone-watch hybrid in the form of a smartwatch.
The company's chief technology officer Justin Rattner told Bloomberg's The Next Big Thing Summit that the firm is looking at revolutionising the way people text.
He said that internal production has begun for such devices, which would allow you to just "glance at your wrist and see the message traffic" rather than having to dig your phone out of your pocket.
Mr Rattner pointed out the changes that would need to be made to manufacture a wearable computing device, saying that it would need to be "ten times more efficient" than regular smartphones.
Although nothing has been released yet it will be interesting to see what emerges when big companies release their smartwatches.
