That is because the US manufacturer has once again been named as a particularly popular brand among phone users.
According to Apple Insider, new figures from comScore show the company's operating system grew by 1.4 per cent in the US in the three months to the end of November.
However, it noted Google's Android platform is also an in-demand option and expanded by 3.1 per cent over the same period.
Business Insider noted Apple and Android continue to steam ahead in the operating system market while Research in Motion loses ground and Windows Phone stalls.
Andy Rubin, senior vice-president of mobile at Google, took to Twitter this week to reveal that some 3.7 million Android devices were enabled on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, as many received mobiles as festive gifts.
