Mobile phone company HTC has reportedly said that it wants to recreate the success of the HTC J Butterfly by designing another, similar handset.
Chief marketing officer for the firm Ben Ho commented that the previous five-inch handset had been met with such success that a follow-up was needed, according to a report this week by Focus Taiwan.
It is thought the new device would launch under the Butterfly name, but nothing has been confirmed by Mr Ho or the company yet.
He said: "We have no plans for the time being to change the name of this series."
The Butterfly was first launched in Japan but then spread to Taiwan and the United States under the name of Droid DNA.
Although any new mobile phone would have the One to battle with, various issues surrounding the device's release means it is possible that the new Butterfly could fill the gap.
HTC has confirmed that the One will be its only major release this year, which is supposed to hit the UK market this week and the US next month.
