HTC could be thinking about introducing liquidmetal into its next range of mobile phones, according to Digitimes.
If the reports come to fruition, the Taiwanese manufacturer will team up with chassis company Jabon International for the innovative devices.
This may come as a surprise to rival Apple, which has been considering the move for a little while. The iPhone manufacturer has recently renewed a two-year contract with Liquidmetal Intellectual and spent some serious cash hiring new experts in the field.
It could mean that another race is on between two smartphone competitors to see who will be the first to emerge onto the market. HTC may find itself lagging behind though as Apple seems to have got the heads up on this one having already made significant deals with suppliers.
However, neither company has clarified what their intentions are for liquidmetal devices so you'll have to wait a little longer before anything is certain.
