HTC has accidentally leaked its upcoming Elation Windows Phone 8 (WP8) handset on its website, according to reports.
The page, which allegedly showed photographs and specs for the new smartphone, has now been taken down.
HTC is the latest on the list of mobile phone manufacturers which will use the new WP8 operating system. Nokia is hoping that the software will help its latest Lumia phones to become successful, as the company struggles to compete in the smartphone market.
Previous leaks had this HTC handset named Zenith but it seems the device’s official name will be Elation.
The smartphone will apparently be similar to the HTC One X. However, the manufacturer will improve the poor battery life which elicited many complaints from customers.
Features will also include a 4.7-inch super LCD screen with a 1280×720 HD resolution, according to a supposed screen-grab of the leak posted on the Ubuntulife blog.
The phone should also support Near Field Communication (NFC) technology which allows owners to use their handset to make in-store payments.
