Consumers who are crazy about apps might find that they have plenty of reasons to trade in their mobile phones and move to BlackBerry.
That is because Research in Motion (RIM), which manufactures the brand’s devices, has gone to great lengths to promote its range of downloads.
It announced that customers affected by its recent service disruption will be able to gain many of these apps for free as compensation.
“We’ve worked hard to earn [our customers’] trust over the past 12 years and we’re committed to providing the high standard of reliability they expect, today and in the future,” said Mike Lazaridis, co-chief executive officer at RIM.
Those who are impressed with the apps on offer to existing users could choose to switch to a BlackBerry handset.
Heather McLean, co-founder and editor of online mobile news publication Smart Gorillas, recently said that RIM has taken a strong step in the right direction with some of its latest releases.
