Less than a week before the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5, leaks are appearing about the upcoming mobile phone.
The possible existence of a fingerprint scanner has been a subject of many of the rumours, as has where it would appear if it was to be on the handset.
According to Sammobile, the Samsung Galaxy S5 will sport such technology, as the source claims to ‘confirm’ it. The website’s source said the fingerprint sensor won’t be built into the display as a previous rumour had claimed, but will instead take a note out of Apple’s book and place it behind the home button – just like on the iPhone 5S.
However, it is thought that the sensor will be activated by a swipe motion, rather than a press like Apple’s technology. According to the source, users will have to move their finger “from base to tip” across the home key.
It is also thought that up to eight different fingerprints will be able to be registered, allowing you to assign some to specific apps or tasks.
