The latest rumours indicate concepts of how mobile phone companies would actually integrate flexible displays in smartphones could emerge before the end of the year.
According to Korean site ETNews, the two headliners in the flexible display innovation – Samsung and LG, will start shipping the screens in November with a number of concept smartphones already being produced.
The news comes from "industry analysis" which is a vague source to say the least, but it does claim that concepts will emerge under the title of "unbreakable and light" and be used as pilots to see how markets around the world react to the prototype.
However, it appears that it means that there is considerable amount of development work for both companies to still do. This suggests that it will be a good few months before any devices with flexible screens are available to buy.
