The global health service company Cigna has unveiled an updated version of its Coach by Cigna app, which it has developed with tech giant Samsung.
This clever app provides tailored programmes to help users improve their diet, exercise more, sleep better and lose excess weight.
It does this through interpreting answers to questions that it provides, cleverly working out your personality type, what it is you want to do, your particular preferences and what will deliver the results.
Personality types include planner, dreamer or explorer and, as to capabilities, refers to whether a person possesses the motivation and character to do certain activities without support or needs motivation.
“Samsung is committed to providing our users with mobile health solutions that go above and beyond what is currently available in the market,” commented Yong Jin Lee, head of Health R&D Group at Samsung Electronics.
“By partnering with Cigna, we can put advanced health technology into the hands of our users, making our applications an informative and integral part of their everyday lives.”
Coach by Cigna works in tune with Samsung’s S Health application, which is described by the South Korean company as being your very own “personal fitness coach”.
The aim of both apps is to improve the way people engage and understand their health and wellbeing better – technology has the power to do this and moreover, because we’re so used to using smartphones, it’s easier to engage with.
“Cigna aims to find effective ways to help people achieve healthier, more secure lives,” explained Heather Valteris, global head of channel and partnership marketing, at Cigna.
“We tested, we learned and now we’re putting our expertise into our next generation of Coach by Cigna. With several simple questions, we can get to know you and your preferences, and the best ways to help get you to where you want to be.”
