There is arguably now no choice for businesses but to invest in mobile phones to allow their staff to work on the go.

Nicholas Rope, organiser of Internet Week Europe, has spoken on the subject of mobile activity, suggesting it has now become the primary internet platform.

He noted that traditional ways of accessing the net, such as via a PC, have been left behind by the rise of mobile technology – and this trend is only set to continue.

The expert said the three words on everybody’s lips at the moment are “social, mobile and location” and all of them are “right here, right now”.

“There is lots of discussion around that because even though it is upon us it introduces enormous complexities and opportunities in all of our businesses,” explained Mr Rope.

It was recently announced by T-Mobile that the business capabilities of the BlackBerry Torch 9810 were one of the critical factors in its decision to add the device to its portfolio.
